5 DCs in just 30 minutes, bumped to GSM speed and I am not a happy customer. Magingat sa smart bro prepaid!

Considering the fact that I pay only for what I use, I typically surf the net 4-5 hours a day, sometimes up to 8 hours a day while in office. So Php 20 x 8 hours = Php 160 a day x 30 days = Php 4,800 a month yet somehow the service is not up to par to Smart Bro Unlimited at only Php 999 a month.

  • Transport rate = average 2 kbps
  • Recieve rate = averate 1 kbps (I got a low 0.10 kpbs!)

Somehow its a far cry from their original claim of 2 Mbp. Can’t even plurk, and in writing this blog, I have to save it first and had to connect to another wifi paying only Php 10 per hour. I am really really really depressed, disappointed, disgusted at Smart Bro Prepaid.  So far, Smart Bro customer reps can’t give me anymore assurance other than saying there might be traffic or peak rates. Dang, am I not paying the same peso they are paying? Sheesh, service please!

Disconnections average 2-3 every 30 minutes can really cripple my work where I have to talk/chat to a lot of people at once and send emails with files, getting cut off at mid upload or an upload/download of barely 5 kpbs is NOT what I paid for. Solution?

Should I get Smart Bro Share?

I found this little info from Yugatech.com post regarding Smart Bro Share. I dismissed it at first since at 999 with only 40 hours free usage and 5 people using it at the same time might be a bit unfair for most people (i.e.  I was asleep but roommate B was a torrent hog and used 24 hours) so they made it unlimited… Versus smart bro 3G plan 1500 unlimited. Friends assure me that smart bro 3G 1500 and smartbro share unli have the same speeds. It can’t be crappier than using my cellphone as modem right?

Hmm, will check up with smart if Cagayan de Oro, specifically my home is included in this one. Nice option also I can use the simcard and put it inside my fone for some mobile surfing.
